Adult Sunday School - Sunday AM (9:30 am Fellowship Hall)​

 

We have a strong group and a wonderful fellowship each and every Sunday Morning .  We use the "International Sunday School Lesson" Book. In the months of September, October, and November 2015 we will be studying the book of ACTs. Come join us and with the Holy Spirit as our guide, let's ride with the Apostles Paul, Peter, Stephen, James, Barnabus, and many more as we take a wounderful  Journey by-way-of the road to Damascus.  Come learn about yourself, and join in the wonderful "no pressure " discussion format.  Participation in the discussion is up to you. You can sit and listen or you can interact -- the choice is yours. ​ Absolutley everyone  is welcome. So what have you got to lose?

 

Special NOTE Concerning Everyone at Antioch: Starting in October the Adult Sunday School Class will screen two Movies associated with our study of the Book of Acts. EVERYONE IS INVITED! These will be shown in 30 to 45 minute sements each week. A discussion will follow each screening.

 

Here's  a brief description of each film: " Paul The Apostle" staring G.W. Bailey as Barnabas (he also plays "Provenza" on both TV police drama's "The Closer" and "Major Crimes" on "TNT".). This film is very entertaining and adds at least two main characters, a man Reuben and his girl friend,  that are not in the bible (these  two cahracters are compilations and embody two differnt groups - the man is shown as a Sauls best friend who picks up the torch when Saul converts to christianity -- he embodies the Saduscees and the other groups out to persecute all Christians. His wife is a new convert and she's out to save all Christians,. She embodies the new believers in Christ's Salvation, who are also know as  the followers of "The Way". This characters driven film is both educational and very entertaining. However, as we watch each film, be sure to read along with your Bible so that you will know  exactly what happens in the Book of Acts so that God can help you to easily seperate Bible facts from the film's fictional dramatic license. 

 

The next film is "ACTS, The Acts of the Apostles".This films stars "James Brolin"  (Star of the original film"Amityville Horror" -- and  father to Josh Brolin ) and Dean Jones (star of Disney Movies such as the original "Love Bug"). This movie supposedly follows the NIV version of the Bible word for word. The effects are "cheesy"and a little dated but we will watch it and be thankful for the opportunity.
